WhatsApp the instant messaging service has now finally announced that it has encrypted the contents of its app, giving users the ultimate privacy which everyone desires.
Before this announcement, only the Text Messages were encrypted in the WhatsApp. Now every content the user sends like Images, Videos, Audio, and Group Messages are covered under what is being called as “E2E (End to End) Encryption”.
In this encryption, the data is completely scrambled and completely unreadable until a secret key “password” is entered this key is very similar to the password and pins used by Smart Phone for their locks.
As we all know about the recent very high profile battle between The Technology Giant Apple And FBI on the encryption of a terror suspect’s iPhone in which FBI asked for the help From Apple to Unlock The Device.
The most famous technology giants like Google And Apple by default encrypt the data within their user’s Smart Phone to protect the potential and sensitive data from falling into wrong hands.
But Governments are continuously increasing pressure on these firms to make these data more accessible, stating that the present level of protection is making an easy way for terror cells to communicate without detection.
In the case Between the Law and the tech giant, the law had to seek help from third party in unlocking the device.
On the WhatsApp’s announcement page both WhatsApp and the partner in program, Open Whisper, Said:
As of today, the integration is fully complete. Users running the most recent versions of WhatsApp on any platform now get full end to end encryption for every message they send and every WhatsApp call they make when communicating with each other.
